12 TO 13 SEPTEMBER 2026 (1 NIGHT)
Upon arrival at Phalaborwa gate the Beardedheron team will be eagerly awaiting your arrival. Your luggage will be taken to your accommodation while you enjoy a relaxing first view of the Kruger National Park with your guide Neil Heron. Driving through the historic homeland of the Ba-Phalaborwa people you can view the many granite outcrops that landscape the area, and keep an eye out for dassies on the hills. Once you arrive at Mopani camp your accommodation will be ready for you and you can enjoy a traditional braai and dinner prepared for you by our chef.
13 to 16 September (3 NIGHTS)
Sirheni Bushveld Camp is located on the edge of the Kruger National Park’s northern plains. Running past to the Mphongolo River's Sirheni Dam, the camp's accommodation facilities and two bird hides survey a wide variety of passing game and birds. Guests may be awakened to the sounds of a lion making at kill at the dam, and a resident leopard is often seen coming down to drink at the dam.
Accommodation includes private en-suite one-bedroomed units under thatch that each sleep one to two people (serviced; fresh linen and towels).
Shingwedzi Restcamp (restcamp/northeastern Kruger)
16 TO 18 SEPTEMBER 2026 (2 NIGHTS)
Centered in a quiet clearing along the banks of the Shingwedzi river, this eponymous camp provides well-balanced Kruger National Park accommodation offering of luxury holiday and authentic, outdoor camping trip. Shrouded in mopane trees, the area produces sightings of waterbuck, nyala, kudu, and elephant, as well as a variety of bird species. While the river does dry up in summer months, animal sightings are more frequent in winter as groups challenge each other over quickly disappearing pools left in the wake of the disappearing river.
Accommodation is a private en-suite unit that sleeps one or two people (fresh linen and towels).
Back to Mopani Rest Camp (northern Kruger)
18 TO 20 SEPTEMBER 2026 (2 NIGHTS)
Huddled against and overlooking the banks of Pioneer dam, visitors can take advantage of the winter trend for park animals to move towards water sources as they migrate towards the dam's edge, providing excellent viewing opportunities. The Tropic of Capricorn loop and the Nshawu pans areas allow for game viewing from open plains which host blue wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, buffalo and the rarer tsessebe, as well as the smaller Black-Backed Jackal and caracal. Accommodation is a private en-suite unit that each sleep two to four people (serviced; fresh linen and towels).
